About the song:
Written originally in early 2019 inspired by the events taking place in Sudan during the revolution, this song was a call from the diaspora to home. Not meant for release yet, it was leaked via whatsapp as an offering
to my people. Fast forward 2 years and there have been so many
disappointments in this path...so much promised and not given...so many sacrifices for the sake of something that now seems like a mirage. So who are we when we need to let go of our expectations? Who are we when everything we fear happens? Who are we when we must wait indefinitely?
In this song I hope to define myself through the joys of memories past, and those coming up. A song to plan for the joy you wish to have and focus the mind on the essence of who you wish to be so that future may happen.
